Good to know

  • Is Gaston Shores right on the lake?
Yes. The home sits on the water in Littleton, NC, with a private dock, boathouse and boat lift, plus direct access for swimming and paddling.
  • How many people does it sleep?
Up to 14 guests across 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • What are check-in and check-out times?
Check in after 4:00 PM. Check out by 10:00 AM.
  • Is there a minimum stay?
Yes, 3 nights. Some holiday weeks require longer.
  • Can I bring my boat?
Yes. The covered lift holds up to 10,000 lbs and fits pontoons, tritoons and V-hull boats. Kayaks, paddleboards, floats and life vests in every size are in the boathouse, and the water is 12 to 16 feet deep at the end of the dock. The boathouse sits at the bottom of a long stairway down the hillside, so plan for the climb back up. Guests who'd rather skip the stairs still get lake views from the upper deck, screened porch and hot tub.
  • Are pets allowed?
Yes. One small-breed dog is welcome per reservation, with a flat $350 pet fee. Dogs use the front yard for bathroom breaks (the backyard is artificial turf), and pets stay off beds, furniture and the hot tub.
  • Can we host an event?
Gaston Shores is a no-party home. Small events or professional projects, like a photo shoot, may be possible when arranged in advance, with a deposit and a contract; email [email protected] before booking.
  • What's the cancellation policy?
Full refund if you cancel at least 14 days before check-in. We recommend travel insurance to cover weather and unexpected changes.
  • Is it a good fit for families or friends?
Both. Families get a Pack 'n Play, high chair, bunk room and game room. Friends get private bedrooms, a hot tub, fire pits and the dock. Parties aren't permitted.
  • When's the best time to visit?
Late spring through early fall for warm water. September brings warm water and lower rates. Fall and winter are quiet and cozy.
  • How do I get the best price?
Book directly here to skip the platform service fees.
